Following successful tour stops in South Korea, Australia, Serbia, and Ireland, acclaimed pianist and composer Giuseppina Torre is set to perform a series of concerts and events across Albania on October 1st and 2nd. The musical journey, taking place in Tirana and Vlorë, centers on themes of courage, personal choices, and new beginnings.
Organized by the Italian Embassy in Tirana in collaboration with the "Jordan Misja" Artistic Lyceum, the showcase begins on October 1st at 4:30 PM in Tirana. Torre will first lead a masterclass for students at the Lyceum’s Theater Hall, followed by an 6:00 PM performance blending her original compositions with dramatic readings. Albanian actress Ina Kollcaku will read passages from Torre’s debut book, Un piano per rinascere. La mia storia dal vivo (A Piano for Rebirth: My Story Live), co-written with journalist Barbara Visentin and published by Solferino. The book candidly chronicles her survival and escape from long-term emotional and physical abuse.
On October 2nd at 7:30 PM, Torre will perform her solo piano concert, " Note di rinascita," at the Petro Marko Theater in Vlorë. Through her music, she translates moments of pain, vulnerability, and transformation into a powerful story of inner strength, self-awareness, and freedom. Admission is free. A longtime advocate against domestic violence, Giuseppina Torre continues to use her personal story and music to empower others and raise awareness.
