Dublin – The Italian Cultural Institute in Dublin is organising a guided tour on 21 October at 3 pm of the exhibition Il Presepe: l’eredità di San Francesco d’Assisi attraverso il design italiano e l’artigianato irlandese (The Nativity Scene: The Legacy of St Francis of Assisi through Italian Design and Irish Craftsmanship). The exhibition is on display at Rathfarnham Castle in Dublin until 6 January. Conceived by the Italian Cultural Institute and designer Andrea Vecera, who serves as artistic curator, the exhibition was organised by the Institute in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Ireland, the OPW (Office of Public Works) and DCCI (Design & Crafts Council Ireland). The guided tour, organised by the Embassy of Italy in Ireland and the Italian Cultural Institute in Dublin, will offer visitors an opportunity to explore the creative dialogue between Italian designers and Irish craftspeople through works that reinterpret the traditional nativity scene in a contemporary style. Part of the Week of the Italian Language in the World programme, the tour will be conducted in Italian, with the aim of encouraging and promoting the use of the language through art and creativity.
