Las Palmas – The 2026 edition of WOMEX – the Worldwide Music Expo, one of the leading international events dedicated to world music and the music industry – came to a close on 25 October in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. Once again, Italy played a prominent role through the activities of the Italian Pavilion, coordinated and funded by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA). Assomusica, one of the organisations promoting Italy’s participation, also helped raise the profile of the country’s music scene and live performances, fostering dialogue and connections with industry professionals from around the world. “This year’s participation in WOMEX once again provided an important opportunity to promote Italian music in international markets and support the growth of the live music industry,” said Carlo Parodi, President of Assomusica. “The presence of more than 50 Italian companies demonstrated the vitality of our sector and its determination to strengthen ties with international industry professionals. The Italian Pavilion served as a strategic meeting place for networking and collaboration, where tradition, innovation and expertise helped showcase Italian talent and open up new opportunities for growth.” (9colonne)
