Literature, the story of Regina and Marcello at the Italian Institute of Culture

(August 10, 2017) Regina's story takes place between Portugal and Argentina among the historical-political vicissitudes that marked the beginning of the 20th century. It is the story of a woman with a passion for opera, in love with a man who devotes himself entirely to serving his country and willing to challenge the prejudices and social conventions of his time. "Regina and Marcello. A duet of love" is the title of Ana Maria Cabrera's book, which will be presented on August 23 (6.30 PM) at the Italian Institute of Culture in Buenos Aires, with the participation of Rossella Scatamburlo, Italian translator of the book. Ana Maria Cabrera is a famous Argentine writer. She has studied letters and has been a lecturer in Argentina and the United States. Her fame as a writer comes frome her best-selling work, "Felicitas Guerrero", followed by "Cristian Demaría, los derechos de la mujer", "Macacha Güemes" and "Rituales peligrosos". Rossella Scatamburlo graduated in Foreign Languages and Literature at Ca' Foscari University in Venice and wrote the novels "At the feet of David" and "The Shapes of Darkness". (Red)

ABOUT / THE IIC

The Italian Institute of Culture of Buenos Aires was founded in 1940 with the name of Centro Studi Italiani. During the Second World War it was closed; in 1952 it was reopened again, in its current location, under the name of Centro Italiano di Studi. A few years later, it was decided to give this institution the same name with which it is known in the rest of the world: the Italian Institute of Culture.
