Italy showcases fashion excellence in Japan at Expo Osaka

Osaka – In 2024, companies represented by Confindustria Accessori Moda recorded exports to Japan worth approximately €1.2 billion—an increase of 6.8% compared to 2023 and a remarkable 56% growth over pre-pandemic 2019 levels. These figures confirm Japan’s role as one of the most dynamic and strategic markets for Italian fashion accessories, ranking 5th among the top destinations for exports in the sector.

That’s why Confindustria Accessori Moda—one of the signatories of the recent joint Protocol of Understanding along with Anfao (Italian Optical Goods Association), Altagamma, Camera Moda, Confartigianato Moda, Confartigianato Orafi, CNA Federmoda, CNA Orafi, Confindustria Federorafi, Confindustria Moda, and Uniontessile Confapi—is taking part in the opening event of the Italian Fashion Days Worldwide, set to take place August 4–7, 2025, at the Italy Pavilion during Expo Osaka.

The initiative, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), is a direct outcome of the protocol signed last January to boost the global visibility of Italian fashion.

The Italy Pavilion, designed as an evocative “walk beneath the arches,” draws inspiration from the architectural elegance of the Colosseum’s arcades and is meant to offer visitors the feel of a true Italian cityscape.
