Ningbo – The Italian national shooting team got off to a strong start at the Olympic Sports Center in Ningbo, China, where the curtain has risen on the fourth and final stage of the Shooting World Cup season. On the opening day of finals, Carlotta Salafia and Danilo Dennis Sollazzo secured third place in the 10m air rifle mixed team event.
The Italian pair delivered an excellent performance on the Asian firing line, posting the fourth-highest qualification score (631.6), which earned them a spot in the bronze medal match. There, they left no chance to Croatia’s Marta Zeljkovic and Petar Gorsa, who were defeated with a decisive 16-4 scoreline.
Victory went to Norway’s Jeanette Hegg Duestad and Jon-Hermann Hegg, who claimed gold by beating China’s home duo Xinlu Peng and Lihao Sheng 17-9, forcing them to settle for silver.
