Tunis – CAT Colacem marked its 25th anniversary with an Open Day at its Djebel Djelloud plant, welcoming more than 800 visitors including residents, students, institutions, and partners. The initiative offered a behind-the-scenes look at the cement production cycle, the technologies in use, and the company’s tangible commitment to sustainability.
Throughout the day, guests were able to learn about the company’s efforts to protect the environment, ranging from investments in innovative technologies to responsible resource management and ongoing safety and training programs for employees. CAT Colacem has strengthened its dialogue with all those who interact with the company, engaging the local community and launching initiatives centered on transparency and social responsibility.
At the close of the visit, Francesca Colaiacovo, President of the Italian Financo Group, recalled that CAT Colacem was the group’s first international venture, highlighting the human and professional value of those who contributed to the company’s growth, and the desire to open its doors to the community to share a vision of the future.
General Director Giuseppe Colaiacovo emphasized the plant’s path of growth and transformation, underscoring how CAT Colacem has become an industrial benchmark thanks to the dialogue between Italian and Tunisian cultures, the daily dedication of its employees, and a shared vision of sustainability.
Also in attendance were Italy’s Ambassador to Tunisia Alessandro Prunas, who stressed the importance of Italian enterprises in the Tunisian economy, Italian Member of Parliament Massimo Ruspandini, President of the Italian-Tunisian Chamber of Commerce Mourad Fradi, UGTT union construction department deputy secretary Taieb Bahri, and Tunisia For All Association President Touhami Midani.
