Turin is once again positioning itself at the heart of Europe’s knowledge and training landscape. The European Training Foundation (ETF)—an EU agency based in Villa Gualino, Turin—will host three major international conferences over the coming weeks, all under the patronage of the City of Turin. The events will gather ministers, European Commission officials, international partners, and financial institutions to discuss cooperation, lifelong learning, and sustainable competitiveness. Together, they reinforce Turin’s role as a European hub for innovation in education and skills diplomacy. “Every investment in education is an investment in the future,” said ETF Director Pilvi Torsti. “Here in Turin, that belief takes shape every day as we build skills for peace, social cohesion, and prosperity both within and beyond Europe.” Deputy Mayor Michela Favaro added: “Turin is proud to host the ETF and to be a reference point for training and international cooperation. These events show how our city can help build connections and opportunities through skills.” The first event, Europe and Central Asia Together for Youth, will take place on October 30–31 under the EU-funded DARYA project (Dialogue and Action for Resourceful Youth in Central Asia), bringing together deputy ministers of education and labor from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, along with EU Special Representative Eduards Stiprais. Next comes Lifelong Learning and European Cooperation (November 18–19), organized with Germany’s DVV International, followed by Strengthening Competitiveness: Skills and Finance for Inclusive Growth on November 26.
