Brussels – To mark the centenary of his birth, the Italian Cultural Institute of Brussels will host a cultural event dedicated to Rocco Chinnici on January 13 at 7:00 p.m. The performance explores the life of the magistrate, who was killed by Cosa Nostra in 1983 along with two members of his security detail.
The show, written and directed by Ugo Bentivegna, features performances by Silvia Siravo and Filippo Luna, and is told through the perspective of Chinnici’s daughter, Magistrate Caterina Chinnici. It highlights his pioneering work against organized crime, including the creation of the anti-mafia pool, the seizure of mafia assets, and the education of young people.
The event reflects Chinnici’s enduring influence on figures such as Antonino Caponnetto, Giovanni Falcone, and Paolo Borsellino, leaving a lasting legacy in the pursuit of justice in Italy.
