Lagos – The Chianti Wine Consortium has launched its first official mission to Nigeria, taking part today in the Top Italian Wines Roadshow at the Civic Centre in Lagos, organized by Gambero Rosso.
The Consortium is represented by a delegation of 13 wineries, showcasing around 30 Chianti DOCG labels to a selected audience of trade professionals, importers and specialized press.
“This is a true debut for us and a strategic step,” said Giovanni Busi, President of the Chianti Consortium. “Africa is a market with strong growth potential, where Chianti can develop steadily in the coming years.”
The program also includes a masterclass led by Marco Sabellico, curator of Gambero Rosso’s Vini d’Italia guide, featuring seven Chianti DOCG wines and aimed at highlighting the modern identity of the historic Tuscan appellation.
