Marseille – Focused on emerging cinematic creation and the art of composing music for the screen, the Music & Cinema Marseille International Festival will take place in Marseille from March 30 to April 4. Founded in 1999, the event has become an essential fixture for professionals in both the national and international film industries, establishing itself as a key reference point for music composition for visual media. Showcasing around 300 films each year, Music & Cinema Marseille brings together over one thousand professionals and 25,000 spectators through premieres, thought-provoking discussions, and outstanding musical events open to all audiences. Italy will also be represented at the festival, thanks to the collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Marseille, with Italian films and co-productions featured in the program. The Italian selection will be hosted at the Artplexe cinema: on Monday, March 30 at 8:00 p.m., the opening film will be Vivaldi et moi by Damiano Michieletto, with an original score by Fabio Massimo Capogrosso; on Thursday, April 2 at 1:30 p.m., the feature film in competition Don’t Let the Sun, directed by Jacqueline Zünd, with original music by Marcel Vaid (Swiss/Italian co-production); and on Thursday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m., the short film in competition Milk Teeth (Afghanistan/Italy co-production), directed by Amin Meerzad and Maria Mathilde Fondi, with music by Alberto Redoglia and Francesco Iachello.
