Kyoto – Valerio Mastandrea will be in Kyoto on June 6 at 2:30 pm: the actor will perform the monologue “Migliore” by Mattia Torre at Hulic Hall Kyoto, a production by Nuovo Teatro di Napoli. The show is organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Osaka on the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Japan. “Migliore” is the comic and terrible story of Alfredo Beaumont, an ordinary man who, following an accident (which he causes, feels responsible for, and for which he will be acquitted), falls into a deep crisis and becomes a bad man. Suddenly, society opens all its doors to him: Alfredo advances professionally, women desire him, and he is cured of his ailments and fears. “Migliore” is a story about our times, about people who build their success on ruthlessness, cynicism, and contempt for others – and about the paradox of those who are scorned, who, faced with such people, bow their heads and, fascinated, let them pass.
