Petrópolis – Following its stop in Teresópolis, Vincenzo Del Vecchio’s exhibition now moves to Petrópolis, presented as part of the Teresa Festival in Brazil. The show brings together works from three illustrated books by the artist: Terraneo, moderna mitologia mediterranea, Il Milione by Marco Polo, and The Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. In Del Vecchio’s works, cities take on ever-changing identities. Architecture enters the realm of imagination, topography loses its rigidity, and streets become traces of possible narratives. City Portraits presents a series of urban visions in which real and imagined places coexist like evolving organisms: in the exhibited works, the city appears as a living, mobile entity, shaped by architectural fragments, literary memory, and images of the collective unconscious. Organized by the Italian Cultural Institute of Rio de Janeiro, the exhibition was presented in Teresópolis from 7 to 10 May and will be on display at the Crystal Palace in Petrópolis from 28 to 31 May.
