Beijing – Italian composer and pianist Giulia Mazzoni, founder of the Italian “New Classical” movement, has concluded a highly successful Asian tour, earning widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics. The tour combined performances at prestigious cultural institutions, tributes to local traditions and warm receptions from leading artistic and institutional figures across China, supported by a network of international partnerships. The project, Giulia Mazzoni is Back to China, promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing in collaboration with Zhong Art International, marked the artist’s return to a country that has played a pivotal role in her international career. The tour also celebrated a decade-long relationship between Mazzoni and Chinese audiences, who have consistently embraced her music. Among the highlights were a performance held in conjunction with the international exhibition Pietro Ruffo – Lois Conner | 2 Voices on Andrea Palladio at Beijing’s Temple Dongjingyuan, a sold-out concert at the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing, an exclusive recital at Tianjin’s Yun-Gui Pavilion, and an appearance as special international guest at the opening of Yan Shi · Ya Ji at 024 Beijing, an initiative organized in collaboration with the National Theatre of China. Mazzoni also performed at the Italian Embassy in Beijing during official celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic. “China occupies a special place in both my personal life and artistic journey,” Mazzoni said. “Returning today and finding the same affection, sensitivity and enthusiasm has been deeply moving.
