Andrea Bocelli to open FIFA countdown concert ahead of 2026 World Cup

Mexico City – Andrea Bocelli will lend his voice to officially launch the road to the FIFA World Cup 2026, headlining the opening of the FIFA Countdown Concert, a major international event taking place on June 10 that will connect Mexico City, Toronto and Los Angeles in a global celebration of football, music and cultural unity. Performing live at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, and broadcast worldwide, the Italian tenor will open the evening with “Nelle Tue Mani”, the iconic piece from the Gladiator soundtrack featured on his album Cinema. The concert will bring together artists from the tournament’s host countries and beyond and will be streamed globally on the eve of the competition’s official countdown launch. The production will link the three host cities in real time under the theme: “Three Cities. One Concert. One World United Through Football and Music.” Alongside Bocelli in Mexico City will be Los Ángeles Azules, Belinda and Elena Rose. In Toronto, the lineup includes AHI, Wyclef Jean, Bryan Adams, Nora Fatehi, Sanjoy, The Beaches and Vegedream, while Los Angeles will feature Ava Max, BIA, Davido and Major Lazer, the collective led by Diplo. Bocelli recently performed in Mexico City’s historic Zócalo before an audience of more than 300,000 people, in one of the most attended musical events of the year. The concert comes during a particularly active period for the tenor, who is scheduled to perform on June 27 at Piazza San Marco in Venice and on July 23 and 25 at the Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico. Starting in September, he will continue his international Romanza 30th Anniversary tour, celebrating three decades since the release of the album that propelled him to global fame. The FIFA Countdown Concert begins at 6 p.m. and will be streamed live worldwide on TikTok, with on demand replay available on the VuMe Live platform. (9colonne)
