Istanbul – The Italian Consulate General in Istanbul will host the concert La Dolce Vita as part of the Istanbul Music Festival, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute. The performance pays jazz tribute to the musical heritage of Italy in the second half of the 20th century. Led by internationally acclaimed saxophonist Stefano Di Battista, the ensemble features Matteo Cutello on trumpet, Andrea Rea on piano, Daniele Sorrentino on double bass and Luigi Del Prete on drums. The concert is inspired by Di Battista’s album La Dolce Vita, which reinterprets some of the most iconic pieces of Italian music and film tradition, evoking a shared cultural imagination defined by elegance, dreamlike atmospheres and creative vitality. The program includes works by some of Italy’s most celebrated composers, including Nicola Piovani, Renato Carosone, Armando Trovajoli, Nino Rota, Paolo Conte, Ennio Morricone and Lucio Dalla, offering a contemporary jazz reading of melodies deeply rooted in Italian cultural memory.
