From Monday to Friday, BigItalyFocus provides an information overview, ranged from development aid to made in Italy
New York – Appennines on the Road is the latest travel guide dedicated to Italy's Apennine mountain range. Published by Lonely Planet, written by Denis Falconieri and developed in collaboration with UNCEM (the National Union of Mountain Municipalities, Communities and Authorities), the guide takes readers on a journey through Italy's Green Communities, from Liguria to Sicily. Designed for travel by car, motorcycle or camper van, the guide explores villages and thriving mountain communities that are redefining sustainable tourism and local development. The book will be officially launched on Sunday, July 12, at 4 p.m. at Palazzo Tobia Pallavicino in Genoa. Speakers will include UNCEM President Marco Bussone, author Denis Falconieri and moderator Jonathan Ferramola. "Appennines on the Road is an extraordinary journey through the Apennines and the communities that call them home," Falconieri said. "It tells stories of renewal and social innovation, highlighting villages that have turned culture, hiking routes and hospitality into engines of development and stewardship, creating new economic opportunities while enhancing local heritage and strengthening community ties". Following the success of Alps on the Road, Lonely Planet has chosen to present the Apennines through a fresh lens, Bussone said. "The guide we are launching in Genoa is truly one of a kind. It complements the outstanding volume dedicated to the Alps across seven European countries while offering a narrative that goes beyond stereotypes and clichés. Lonely Planet always strives to showcase the very best, and I would like to thank editor Angelo Pittro, Cristina Oddone and Denis Falconieri for their ability to look at mountain regions and local communities with fresh eyes. We need that perspective now more than ever". (9colonne)
