Buenos Aires - The General Council of Italians Abroad (CGIE) is hosting a series of meetings in Buenos Aires dedicated to the network of Italian institutions worldwide. Coordinated by Council Member Antonio Morello, the initiative aims to explain how the representation system works for overseas communities while fostering dialogue on the role of community organizations. The opening session took place on July 25 at the headquarters of the Federation of Calabrian Associations in Argentina (FACA). Open to the public, the event explored Italian and regional associative models in Argentina, their core objectives, and their internal structures. Key speakers included Jorge Sereni, President of the "Antonio Devoto" Cultural Center, along with Liliana Brusca and Cristina Borruto from the Regional Council of Calabria. Presentations clarified the role of co-opted members within the Committees of Italians Abroad (Comites) and the operational framework of regional councils. The next event in the series is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, at 3:00 PM at FACA headquarters in Buenos Aires. The panel discussion will be free and open to Italian citizens, descendants, community leaders, and anyone interested in the governance of representation bodies.
