Culinary Festival celebrates 37 years of the Apulian Association

La Plata - The Mondongo neighborhood of La Plata, Argentina, is getting ready for two Sundays of Italian celebration. On August 16 and 23, the Apulian Association of La Plata (Associazione Pugliese di La Plata) will mark Ferragosto with an open-air street festival featuring live music, free admission, and the traditional Italian atmosphere the organization has cultivated in the city for nearly four decades.
Founded on August 19, 1989, to foster integration among Apulian Italian-Argentines and descendants of Italian immigrants, the association celebrates its 37th anniversary this year. Led by President Nicolás Moretti from its headquarters on Calle 62, the organization also serves as the base for the Italy-Argentina Cultural Tourist Productive Corridor—an initiative connecting tourism, trade, and cultural projects between both nations in partnership with the National University of La Plata (UNLP). Furthermore, the association is a co-organizer of the Italian Gastronomy Festival, a major bi-annual city event that drew over 25,000 attendees during its latest edition. (9colonne)
