Madrid – "Raffaella – The Musical" has won the award for "Best Original Musical" at the BroadwayWorld Spain Audience Awards 2026. The accolade follows the resounding success with both audiences and critics of "Raffaella – El Musical," the Iberian version of the show arriving in Italy this February (at Rome's Teatro Brancaccio and Milan's Teatro Nazionale). The show is the first biographical musical dedicated to the extraordinary life and career of Raffaella Carrà, an enduring icon of Italian and international pop culture. It offers a unique journey through her personal and artistic journey, from her early days in Italy to her triumphant success in Spain. This award marks a major milestone for the project, which was conceived by Valeria Arzenton in 2021 and debuted in Madrid, going on to stage dozens of performances at the Teatro Capital in 2025 for over 150,000 ticket holders across 158 shows. Conceived by Arzenton, the musical is co-produced by Alessandro Longobardi and features an all-Italian creative team—including direction by Luciano Cannito, choreography by Fabrizio Prolli, and set design by Italo Grassi.
