New York – On the 12th of November, the Italian Cultural Institute in New York will open “mia, Writing my Light”, a solo exhibition by Italian artist and designer marionanni, bringing together works created over more than five decades of artistic activity. The evening will begin with opening remarks by Claudio Pagliara, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, followed by a conversation between marionanni and Chantal Meng, an artist, interdisciplinary researcher and lecturer at Parsons School of Design. The discussion will be moderated by the exhibition’s curator, Beatrice Caprioli. At the heart of the conversation will be the role of light, considered not merely as a functional tool but as an expressive medium capable of shaping how we perceive spaces and relate to the world around us. The exhibition will also be accompanied by an educational project developed in collaboration with the Pratt Institute and the launch of marionannischolé, a new international centre dedicated to education and research. Its aim is to pass on the artist’s knowledge and experience to younger generations. (9colonne)
