Bale (Valle) - Carlo Goldoni returns to the stage in an unprecedented way. On August 13th, the Italian Cultural Institute of Zagreb is collaborating on the organization of a performance by the Italian theater company Hellequin, titled "Am I your thing? – Women, masks, and music... Goldoni today" (“Son io cosa vostra? – Donne, maschere e musica…Goldoni oggi”). The event will be held at the Fort Forno Theater in the Croatian town of Bale (Valle), as part of the Bembo Fest theater event. Directed by Ferruccio Merisi, this show rediscovers the world of Carlo Goldoni - the playwright who reformed 18th-century Italian theater - through a contemporary lens. The performance is a tribute to the women in Goldoni's works, initiating a dialogue between classical theatrical texts and present-day sensibilities. Goldoni's texts intertwine with famous pop songs from contemporary collective memory, performed live, creating a unique dialogue between the 18th century and the present. (9colonne)
